My name is Billie Jean, and I'm here to set the record straight! Okay so that's not my real name. I'm Shelly, I just love that line from the movie. I am really just here to write about my quest for fitness, ups, downs and all of the in-between. Many years ago, I set out on a quest to lose weight. Throughout this time, I had several moments of gain lose and gain more. I was finally getting back on track, during the pandemic no less, when all got derailed! I wanted to show others that it is possible to regain fitness at the age of fifty, and well I did, kinda sorta. Thankfully at that point in time I had lost a significant amount of weight but had not reached my ultimate weight loss goal. I will discuss my setback little later on. But for now I hope you follow along as I share my story of my current achievements, my ultimate goals, and other mad trappings that help me relieve my stress so that I don't turn to cupcakes again. Please laugh at my expense and above all, I hope this inspires someone to achieve their goals! Now for a little background...

I was always pretty thin as a kid. I ran track, was an uncoordinated cheerleader among other frequent outdoor activities. Our generation had television, but most of our entertaining came from playing outside, especially during the summer. I was around 15 or 16 in the pic on the right. Believe it or not, at that time I felt I needed to lose weight...sigh... By the time I reached my 20's, I had started to fill in a little more. I always had a bubble butt to be so skinny, but the "hereditary" hips started to catch up with me.

That was me, early twenties, taking a picture to document my weight loss journey (rocking the 90's asymmetrical bob no less LOL!!) I believe I was around 192 lbs on this picture. I was able to hide some of my weight to to my height, 5'9 (current slightly under to due cervical disc issues...) thankfully, but after a while that didn't camouflage it anymore. Not horribly overweight but definitely could use some toning!

Fast forward to mid 20s. I was in anatomy class. I blotted out my cat so that the PETA peeps won't come after me...(hey I did what I had to do...). This, was the weight, shape and size I was most comfortable with. I was about 180lbs. I know, does not really look like it, but again my height and shape hid a lot! This is the weight I would love to return to. And to date, I am only a few pounds away from my goal...
Okay so this is just an introduction, stay tuned as I forge on to how I ultimately spiraled towards 300 lbs! Thanks for reading!! Love and cupcakes!!
Side note: This site will be my sounding board! Some days will be strictly about the weight-loss journey, some will be rants and other mad trappings of a ehem, reformed?...stress eater. So much has happened along this journey and I will share my story and pots past and updated pics along the way! Stay tuned...
